Personnel Removed from Congo- Base of Ebola Outbreak
October 16 , 2018
The Ebola personnel have been pulled out from the hotspots of the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic of Congo because of safety concerns. Since August 1, the calamity has claimed 135 lives and there have been over 200 cases of the disease. The increase in the cases, according to WHO spokesman Tarik Jasarevic, is due to challenges faced by the response team. WHO will hold a meeting on Wednesday to decide whether the current situation is a health emergency which requires attention from international authorities. The WHO officials are also worried about spreading of the virus in Burundi, South Sudan, Rwanda, and Uganda.
