People evacuated after Guatemala volcano erupts
February 8 , 2015
People had to be evacuated from their homes in Guatemala following the eruption of the Fuego volcano in the south, reports said.
Capital Guatemala City’s international airport had to be temporarily shut due to the eruption, but it’s expected to open soon.
The volcano is located some 25 miles southwest of the capital, and is more than 12,000 feet above sea level.
A large-scale evacuation was carried out in 2012 after a major eruption of Fuego.
