Pentagon Cancels $300 Million Coalition Support Funds to Pakistan
September 2 , 2018
The U.S. military has made the final decision of canceling aid of $300 Million (as part of so-called Coalition Support Funds) to Pakistan over the latter’s perceived failure of taking decisive action against terrorists. Reports say Trump administration accuse Pakistan of giving shelter to militants who are continuing war in Afghanistan. However, Pakistan has denied the charges. Pentagon spokesman Lieutenant Colonel Kone Faulkner told media that the concerned $300 Million Coalition Support Funds will be spent on “other urgent priorities” once approved by the Congress. He went on to say that the Congress earlier this year had stripped CSF fund of $500 Million to Pakistan, taking the total withheld amount to $800 Million.
