Pegida rally in Dresden triggers rival protests across Germany
January 13 , 2015
An estimated 25,000 people took part in an anti-Islamisation march on Tuesday, January 13, in Germany’s Dresden city following the terror attacks in France, according to media reports.
The rally was organized by Pegida, a far right group that has held many such protests in the past few months.
Simultaneously, several anti-Pegida rallies were held across Germany. Chancellor Angela Merkel, who has spoken out against Pegida, said she would participate in a protest that is being organized in Berlin by Muslim groups.
