Paris jewelry heists: Eight men sentenced to prison
March 1 , 2015
Eight men have been sentenced to prison for one of the most talked-about heists in Paris in recent years.
The double heist, targeting the Harry Winston store, was worth over $100 million in jewels and watches.
The maximum sentence of 15 years was handed over to Douadi Yahiaoui, the mastermind of the thefts.
In the first heist in 2007, four robbers faked the identity of builders. Then, in 2008, four robbers again carried out a heist at the store, with three of them donning women’s clothes.
Most of the stolen goods have not been recovered.
