Paracetamol no better than placebo for lower back pain

  • Though paracetamol is commonly prescribed to relieve lower back pain, the painkiller does not help in reducing it, a new study says.

    According to the Australian study published in Lancet, paracetamol is no different from a placebo when it comes to lower back pain. 

    Better ways to deal with lower back pain, include remaining as active as possible, using heat packs and avoiding bed rest, the authors of the report have said.
