Palestinians Clash with Israeli Forces over Protest to Support Prisoners

  • As per reports, at least 50 Palestinians were injured in clashes between local protesters and Israeli forces across the occupied Palestinian territories. The reason behind the protest was to show support to over 1,500 prisoners who are on hunger strike in Israeli prisons.

Most of the injuries happened because of tear gas inhalation, while live or rubber bullets were used to shoot some protesters.

Clashes also took place in towns and villages across the West Bank where protesters reportedly threw stones at Israeli forces. In response the forces used various crowd control weapons and live fire.

Reports further revealed that Fatah, the political party of Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, along with the national committee had called for “the day of rage”, protesting in Israel occupied areas.
