Pakistan: Severe storms in north-west kill 40, injure 200
April 27 , 2015
Severe storms have caused havoc in Pakistan’s north-western areas, killing at least 40 people and injuring more than 200.
The strong winds and heavy rain also uprooted trees and triggered building collapse, reports said.
Disaster management officials said that wind speed of up to 75 mph rocked the region. They also added that such rain and weather were “very unusual” for this time of the year.
A medical emergency has been declared in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, and Pakistani troops are helping in the relief and rescue operations.
