Pakistan protests: talks begin to find political solution
August 22 , 2014
The Nawaz Sharif government and leaders of the two groups in Islamabad demanding its ouster have started talks to break a deadlock after days of protests.
The protesters, led by PTI leader and ex-cricketer Imran Khan and cleric Tahirul Qadri, want Pakistan prime minister Sharif to step down.
There have been allegations of fraud in last year’s general election which propelled Sharif to power, claims that the government has dismissed.
Meanwhile, the army has urged both sides to find a solution.
