December 27 , 2014
A Pakistan court has issued an arrest warrant against Imam Abdul Aziz, the cleric at a radical mosque in Islamabad. According to media reports, he has not only refused to condemn the massacre of children in Peshawar, but also threatened the demonstrators protesting his silence on the issue of terrorism. After the Peshawar incident, Aziz had said that the authorities should rather arrest people accused of more serious offences. The Imam, as per the reports, is known for his pro-Taliban views. In fact, the library of a school run by the cleric was recently renamed in the honour of Osama Bin Laden.
