Over 200 Killed in Philippines by Tropical Storm Tembin

Tropical storm Tembin has hit the southern Philippines, causing massive flash floods coupled with mudslides that reportedly killed around 200 people till now. While 70,000 people have been displaced from homes in the affected region, around 150 people are still reported missing. Continuing heavy downpour along with blocked roads and power cuts is hampering rescue effort. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed his sadness by the life loss in the Philippines and offered help. Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte is scheduled to visit the storm affected communities on Sunday. The police report says 135 people are killed in northern Mindanao, 47 in Zamboanga peninsula, and 18 in Lanao del Sur province.
