Over 1100 IS militants killed in US-led air strikes in Syria: Reports

  • US-led air strikes in Syria, which started in the end of September, have killed a minimum of 1,171 people including more than 1100 Islamic State (IS) militants.  The reports from a monitoring group based in UK stated that 52 civilians had been killed in the strikes. According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), most of the militants were non-native combatant who had joined IS. Earlier, the US commander Lt Gen James Terry admitted that it would take “minimum of three years" to defeat IS.
