Obama to send more troops to Iraq
July 1 , 2014
President Barack Obama said he plans on sending 200 additional US troops in order to protect US citizens and its embassy in Iraq. The move will bring the total number of troops to 800, which will protect the embassy and train local forces.
The president mentioned that these troops will be good for combat, but he won't be sending any combat ones to the region.
Media reports indicate that they will remain in Iraq until security becomes better.
