'Nut rage' case: Former Korean Air executive freed

  • Heather Cho, the former executive of Korean Air jailed in the infamous “nut rage” case, was freed after she won a court appeal.

    Cho, a former vice-president of the airline and the daughter of the firm’s chairman, was convicted of violation of air safety rules after she ordered a plane back to the gate because she wanted to offload an attendant who did not serve her nuts the right way.

    The case got a lot of media attention around the world.

    The appeals court has given her a reduced 10-month sentence and suspended the jail term for two years.
