North Korea’s Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un has reportedly resurfaced on Friday after remaining underground for around 20-days. The North Korean state media KCNA has published photos showing Kim Jong-un (accompanied by his sister Kim Yo Jong) cutting a red ribbon to open a fertilizer plant in Suncheon In. The report also said that the crowd in the factory “broke into thunderous cheers of hurrah” when Kim appeared at the site. South Korean news agency, Yonhap, quoted a North Korean defector last week saying that he was “99% certain” about Kim’s death, has also reported Kim’s reemergence with photos published. In its report, KCNA also said that their Supreme Leader was satisfied by the production system of the factory and went on to praise it for North Korea’s chemical industry and food production. The report also praised Kim Jong-un’s leadership for strengthening the North Korean economy by bringing in a coveted change of self-reliance based development in the fertilizer industry.
