North Korea to switch to new time zone

  • In commemoration of its liberation from the Japanese at the end of World War Two, North Korea will create a new time zone. As per media reports, the new time zone, which will come into affect on August 15, will see clocks pushed back by 30 minutes. At present North Korea’s time zone is same as that of Japan and South Korea, which is nine hours ahead of GMT.
