North Korea terms the U.S.-South Korean joint military drills as an act of provocation

  • Terming the ongoing military joint military drills between the U.S. and South Korea as an act of provocation, North Korea warned that it would retaliate, media reports said. Claiming that the joint military drills were an attempt by the U.S. to provoke a nuclear war in the Korean peninsula, the North Korean foreign ministry has said that all necessary measures would be taken by its army. In response to North Korea’s threat, South Korea has issued the maximum alert in the region.
