North Korea holds Year-End Plenary Meeting of Ruling Party before Deadline to the US on Denuclearization Talks Ends

  • Kim Jong Un, North Korea’s Supreme Leader and chairman of the ruling Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK), has convened a year-end meeting of the top party officials on Sunday for discussing important policy matters before the year-end deadline of North Korea to the US comes to an end. Kim had earlier said that his country will tread a new path in the New Year if the US doesn’t advance the stalled talks on the denuclearization issues. The state news agency KCNA has said in a statement that the first-day session of the plenary meeting was guided by Kim Jong Un for discussing “important matters arising in the party building and activities and in the building of the state and national defense”.
