North and South Korean Leaders Hold Surprise Meeting

  • In a dramatic twist of event, South Korean President Moon Jae-in had a surprise meeting with North Korea’s supreme leader Kim Jong Un on Saturday at Panmunjom border village. Reports say the meeting went on for two hours and the two leaders discussed on the ways of making North Korea-U.S. summit successful. North Korean state news agency KCNA reportedly said that the US-North Korea summit has every possibility of being held as per previous plan on June 12 as Kim Jong Un expressed “his fixed will”. It has been reported that South and North Korean leaders agreed to hold high-level talks on June 1. The leaders also agreed to meet more frequently. The US President Donald Trump said he and North Korea’s Kim Jong Un agree that the “perpetual peace regime should not be halted”.
