No plans to divide the European Union, says Putin

  • Russian President Vladimir Putin says that Russia has no interest in weakening the European Union. This statement came ahead of his first trip to a European Union country (Austria), after being re-elected. Putin will be traveling to Austria on June 5 for talks which will focus on Russia's role in the conflict in eastern Ukraine and the EU which is sanctioned on Moscow. Putin further informed media that he wants a “united and prosperous” EU. President Putin is going to meet Austrian President Alexander Van der Bellen, Chancellor Sebastian, and some business leaders.
