No Drinking Water for Million of People in Chile

  • Reports say that authorities have cut off drinking water to four million people in Santiago. A major river was contaminated due to rainstorms and landslides in Chile. Water supply will be cut off to the cities that receive water from Maipo river, and it will remain like this until clear water starts flowing.

People are reportedly being dependent on bottled water now and restaurants and businesses have been asked to remain closed by the authorities.

The school term was about to start from Monday but it has also been postponed by the officials.

Reports also say that return of water supply depends on weather conditions.

The floods caused by the heavy rains have killed at least four people.
