Nine tourists killed in Pakistan

As per information from local police, a minimum of nine tourists have been killed by gunmen in the part of Kashmir under Pakistan’s control. The incident happened when assailants stormed a local hotel. According to early reports, five among the deceased were from Ukraine, three from Russia and one was from China. It is also being stated that there is a Pakistani lady among the ones to have been murdered. The incident took place in the vicinity of the base camp that is located close to the Nanga Parbat Mountain at Diamer district in the province of Gilgit-Baltistan. The responsibility for the attacks is yet to be claimed by any group.
Initially the police had stated that 10 people have died in the attacks. The reason or aim of the attack are yet to be discovered. Nanga Parbat is located in the Himalayan mountain range and is regarded as one of the tallest mountains around the world. It is a highly visited tourist destination as well. Ali Sher, a senior official of the local police, has also informed the media that the assailants are yet to be identified. Another senior official has also revealed that the whole area has been cordoned off and the police are looking for the murderers.
