Nigerian military rescue women, children from Boko Haram captivity

The Nigerian army says it has rescued 178 people being held by the Boko Haram in Borno state, a militant stronghold. They include 101 children and 67 women, a military spokesperson said. A commander of the Islamist militant group was also captured in the military operation near Bama town, he added.
Meanwhile, the Nigerian airforce helped troops in repelling a Boko Haram attack near Bitta village on the periphery of Sambisa forest reserve, reports said.
