Nigeria: African allies gain upperhand against Boko Haram militants

Nigerian forces have retaken Monguno and Marte towns from Boko Haram with the help of air strikes, the military has said.
Cameroon and Niger have also claimed successes in fighting the Islamist group.
While Cameroon said its troops killed 80 militants and arrested 1,000 Boko Haram supporters, Niger said it has detained 160 people with links to the group in the past 10 days.
Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad and Niger have formed a coalition to fight Boko Haram.
