Nigeria: 42 killed, 100 injured in two bombings

  • At least 42 people have been killed and about 100 injured in two bomb attacks in north-eastern Nigeria.

In Yola town, a bomb targeted a newly-inaugurated mosque, killing at least 27 people, while a suicide bombing killed 15 people in Maiduguri.

No one has claimed responsibility for the bombings, but the Boko Harm militant group has carried out several attacks in this area. Boko Haram has killed thousands of people in Nigeria in recent years.
