Nigeria: 30 killed in Maiduguri as militants target mosque, homes
May 31 , 2015
A suicide bomb attack and grenade assaults have killed at least 30 people in northeastern Nigeria’s Maiduguri city.
The bomber targeted worshipers offering their prayers outside a mosque, according to survivors. At least 17 people, including the bomber, were killed in the attack and a wall of the mosque was destroyed.
Meanwhile, at least 13 people were killed by rocket-propelled grenades fired at homes, which is a new tactic used by Boko Haram militants to terrorize the civilian population, locals said.
