Newt Gingrich calls an end to presidential campaign

  • Republican Newt Gingrich has ended his presidential campaign.

The former House Speaker declined to endorse the party’s presumptive nominee Mitt Romney.

Gingrich told supporters in Arlington, Virginia that the November election offered a choice between Romney and Barack Obama, whom he labelled as “the most radical, leftist president in American history.”

Reports suggest that Gingrich has ended his campaign around $4 million in debt.
