Newly freed Russian tycoon reunited with family
December 22 , 2013
After Vladimir Putin freed Mikhail Khodorkovsky yesterday, the oil tycoon reunited with his family without wasting any further time.
Khodorkovsky arrived in Germany after a 10-year-long imprisonment, where his son flew to see him. Khodorkovsky's parents, too, are expected to reach Germany soon.
"I am very much looking forward to the minute when I will be able to hug my close ones and personally shake hands with all my friends and associates," he said.
Khodorkovsky denied a statement from Putin's spokesman and said "the issue of admission of guilt was not raised." Editors at Bloomberg View noted that this incident "confirms the arbitrary nature of the Russian justice system" and the nation should rely on the "rule of law" instead of working on the whims of the president.
