Netflix's Communications Head Jonathan Friedland Sacked after using "N-Word"

  • Netflix’s CEO Reed Hastings has fired the company’s head of communications Jonathan Friedland after the latter used the N-word at work in at least two occasions. In an internal memo, Reed apologised to its staffs for not being able to act faster in firing Friedland. In a tweet, Jonathan Friedland also apologised for using such words and distressing people at Netflix, with which he was associated with since 2011. The internal memo by Netflix CEO says Jonathan first used the N-word during a public relations’ team meeting and next during a meeting with black people of the company. Though Reed acknowledged Friedland’s contribution to the company, he also mentions the latter’s lack of judgement which cost him his job.
