Netanyahu declares 'victory' in Gaza war
August 28 , 2014
Benjamin Netanyahu, the prime minister of Israel, said that the Gaza conflict had ended in an Israeli victory.
He said none of the demands of Hamas were met and the Palestinian militant group was “hit hard.”
Israel and Palestinians, including Hamas, have agreed to a ceasefire after seven weeks of fighting which claimed more than 2,200 lives, most of them Palestinians.
With the truce coming into effect, a convoy of the World Food Program of the United Nations entered the Gaza strip for the first time in seven years.
