Nearly 547 Restaurants Closed Down in Tehran
June 10 , 2019
Nearly 547 restaurants and cafes have been shut down by the Iranian Police. The reason behind this step has been clarified by the capital’s police chief, that these places were not adhering to the Islamic principles. In the process ten people were also arrested. It is believed that the operation was being carried out for the past ten days. Observing un-Islamic practices is one of the main duties of Iranian police, where they watch out for any uncustomary advertising happening in cyberspace or any illegal music or 'debauchery' taking place in these restaurants. In order to prevent this, the government has passed an order to install security cameras in such places to monitor behavior of the customers.
