Naval base in Australia locked down after discovery of 'hazardous material'
October 16 , 2014
A naval training base in Victoria, Australia, was locked down following the discovery of “hazardous material,” media reports said.
A 400-meter exclusion zone was set up around the base. A 30-year-old man was arrested in this connection.
The material, however, posed no urgent threat, the police later said, and links with terrorism have been ruled out for now. A bomb squad was also investigating the nature of the material, reports said.
