Nato jets intercept Russian bombers, fighter planes over Europe
October 30 , 2014
Nato jets have intercepted Russian warplanes in what the military alliance termed an “unusual level of air activity” over Europe, according to media reports.
While Russia's bombers have flown over the Black Sea and the Atlantic, its fighter planes have been intercepted in the Baltic skies.
The development comes as the uneasy situation in Ukraine continues to be a source of tension in the region.
Since Tuesday, four groups of planes were intercepted in what Nato called “sizeable Russian flights.”
