Myanmar to start new parliament session
February 1 , 2016
Myanmar is all set to choose its first democratically elected government since the military junta took power in 1962. According to media reports, hundreds of MPs will be gathering for a new session of the parliament of the country. The assembly would be dominated by Aung San Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy (NLD). In the November poll, NLD won 80 percent of the elected seats. Choosing a new president would be one of the new parliament’s first jobs.
