Myanmar students appear in court after clashes with police
March 25 , 2015
About 80 people are appearing in a Myanmar court after a violent clash between students and police.
The protesters were demanding changes to a new education bill and attempted to force their way through the security when they were arrested in Letpadan town two weeks ago.
Video footage has shown students being beaten by the police with sticks. However, President Thein Sein has come out in support of the police officers.
The arrested students face charges such as sowing disunity.
