Myanmar rocked by 6.8 magnitude earthquake

  • A strong earthquake rocked central Myanmar on Sunday, with at least 12 people reportedly dead and dozens more injured.

    The 6.8-magnitude quake struck some 70 miles north of the second-biggest city of Mandalay, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

    A second quake of 5.6-magnitude struck the same region earlier this morning.

    There is no immediate confirmation on whether the latest quake resulted in further casualties or major damage.
