Two Reuters journalists, who were investigating the killing of Rohingya Muslims, are sentenced to 7 years in jail by the Myanmar court. They are charged for violating the Official Secrets Act while they were on the investigation.
Kyaw Soe Oo (aged 28) and Wa Lone ( aged 32) were initially detained in December 2017 while working on the case of mass killing of villagers in Rohingya.
More than 700,000 Rohingya were tried to force out from Myanmar and flee to Bangladesh by the military operations. The UN described the violence by way of ethnic cleansing.
