The wife of Craig Hicks, the man suspected of killing three young Muslims in North Carolina, US, has claimed that the fatal shooting was prompted by parking and not religion.
Karen Hicks said though the attack had “shocked” her, her husband was involved in a number of parking disputes with neighbors belonging to all religions.
The victims, all students, have been identified as Deah Barakat and his wife Yusor Mohammad Abu-Salha, and Yusor’s sister Razan.
The sisters’ father, Mohammed Abu-Salha, was quoted as saying that this was an “execution style” killing.
