Muslim Brotherhood leader gets life sentence

Mohammed Badie, the leader of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood, was among 37 people sentenced to life by a court in Cairo.
The defendants, who were accused of inciting violence and murder “to achieve terrorist goals”, were supporters of Mohammed Morsi, the ousted Egyptian president.
Badie has already received two death sentences. Death sentences of ten more defendants were upheld by the Egyptian court.
The Muslim Brotherhood was banned in December 2013.
