Multiple Explosions in Afghanistan Kills 8, Injures at least 43

  • Multiple explosions in Afghanistan’s Jalalabad city, during a cricket match, kills 8 people and injures dozens. A member of the provincial council, Sohrab Qaderi, told media that the explosions occurred at a football stadium after the evening prayers on Friday. United Nations assistance mission in Afghanistan said in a statement that four blasts had taken place – two inside the stadium and two outside. The two blasts outside the stadium are targeted to carry out maximum damage, especially to hit those panicking crowd coming out of the stadium after the initial blasts. A spokesman for the provincial governor of Nangarhar, Attaullah Khogyani, said 8 people were killed and at least 43 people wounded by the serial explosions.
