Mugabe wins in Zimbabwe
August 4 , 2013
Robert Mugabe has said he'd peacefully walk away if he loses Zimbabwe's election for president. However, that won't be necessary since the 89-year-old has won a seventh term and his Zanu-PF will control two-thirds of the seats in Parliament.
Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai is planning on challenging the results in court, which might not be overturned.
Writer Petina Gappah in the Telegraph said she sees a silver lining- "Come what may, there will be no President Mugabe of Zimbabwe in 2023," she wrote. "Now that is something to look forward to."
