Morsi to face death penalty
December 19 , 2013
Mohamed Morsi is in a lot of legal trouble: The former Islamist president has been referred to trial for conspiring with Lebanon's Hezbollah, and several others in order to destabilize the nation after he was ousted.
Reports suggest that Morsi and others, including three leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood carried out acts to undermine the stability of Egypt. His charges carry the death penalty.
No trial date has yet been scheduled. Morsi is currently on trial for the murder of his opponent while he was still in office. The former president spent nine months in a secret location after being removed from office and appeared in court in November.
