Moldova poll: Pro-EU parties ahead
December 1 , 2014
Results of the parliamentary polls in Moldova indicate that pro-EU parties are ahead of parties in favor of closer ties with Moscow, according to media reports.
The three pro-west political parties got about 44% of the votes while the opposition secured 40%. Over 80% of votes have been counted.
Since no party seems to be in a position to form a government, intense bargaining after the elections is likely.
One pro-Russian party was banned from the election on Sunday, November 30.
