Modi connects with Indian Americans at New York
September 29 , 2014
Around 20,000 wildly cheering Indian Americans turned up at Madison Square Garden to hear Narendra Modi speak at a colorful event in New York during his first visit to the United States as India’s prime minister.
Turning on the charm offensive, Modi, a powerful speaker, told the audience, in Hindi, that India’s time had come and the 21st century would belong to Asia — and maybe even to India.
Over 40 US Congressmen attended the speech, which was broadcast on a giant screen.
