Mob burns homes in north India, 3 killed

More than a dozen people were arrested in northern India’s Bihar state after a mob set dozens of houses on fire, killing three Muslims on Sunday, January 18, according to media reports.
Sunday’s violence in Muzaffarpur district’s Ajitpur village occurred after the body of a man, believed to be a Hindu who had been missing for over a week, was found.
According to the police, the man, who was in love with a Muslim girl, was kidnapped and murdered.
The local police have described the situation in the area as “tense but under control.”
