Mitt Romney drops the idea of running for 2016 US Presidential Election
January 31 , 2015
After weeks of flirting with the idea, Mitt Romney has finally decided that he won’t run for US president in 2016.
The 67-year-old Republican had unsuccessfully challenged President Barack Obama in the 2012 election, and was a candidate in 2008 as well.
Explaining his decision, Romney said that the best course of action was to “give other leaders in the party the opportunity to become our next nominee”.
Jeb Bush, Chris Christie and Rand Paul are among the big Republican names believed to be considering a run for president next year.
