Michael Brown killing: Police fire teargas, rubber bullets at protesters
August 14 , 2014
Police in Ferguson, Missouri used rubber bullets and tear gas on demonstrators as a crackdown against protests over the killing of a black teenager intensified, as per media reports.
Two glass bottles were hurled at the police. Some officers were carrying assault rifles, and armored trucks were used in the crackdown. Two journalists covering the events were arrested.
Missouri’s governor Jay Nixon said the night’s events were “deeply troubling.”
The protests started after Michael Brown, an unarmed 18-year-old black man, was shot dead by the Missouri police on Saturday.
