Mexico Pledges to Create 20,000 Jobs for Hondurans to Curb Exodus of People

  • The Mexican government has pledged to help Honduras by creating 20,000 jobs during this year and also by supporting the coffee farmers. Mexico believes that the migration of Honduran populace to the USA can be curbed by creating jobs and supporting farmers in Honduras. Mexican President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, as well as Honduran President Orlando Hernandez, have pledged to uplift the level of prosperity in Central America so that the exodus of people to the north don’t take place because of the prevailing poverty and violence. Mexican Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard has confirmed that the Mexican President has given specific instructions of help to Honduras so that 20,000 jobs can be created in the beleaguered Central American country by December 2019. Marcelo didn’t share further details about the talks between the Mexican president and his counterpart during their meeting in the eastern state of Veracruz.
