Mexico city rattled by powerful earthquake
April 19 , 2014
An earthquake of magnitude 7.2 shook the southern and central Mexico and sent scared people into the streets. There were no immediate reports of casualties or major damage but plenty of falling debris.
Reports suggest that the quake was centered where many people were on vacation for Easter. "There is a crisis of panic," a source said. "It's mainly the tourists who are shaken."
A 32-year-old man who fled his apartment said he began to hear the walls creak. "Let's go," he said. The quake was about 15 miles deep, which is relatively shallow.
