Mexico cartel stole organs from kidnapped children
March 19 , 2014
Mexican police mentioned that they've uncovered a scheme linked to the kidnapping of children and the sale of their organs. Authorities revealed that the nephew of one of the leaders of the Knights Templar cartel has been arrested for his involvement.
Police stated that these cases date back several years and a local vigilante group's leader said many children were saved from a cartel van earlier this year. "They were inside a refrigerated box, tightly wrapped in blankets," he said.
The Templar cartel has been making money through operations other than those related to drugs. They're also involved in logging, illegal mining and extortion.
